Lately, and by lately I mean over the past two or three years, a lot of movies that were based on books have been coming out. One thing a lot of people like to do is re-read the book before the movie comes out. That isn’t a bad idea, and I have no problem with people who choose to do that. Here is why I don’t though: when books are made into movies, there are usually a couple of changes from the original plot. This will bug me if I recently read the book and those are right in the forefront of my mind. I think a lot of die hard fans are disappointed after they see the movie of their favorite book because they know of everything cool the Hollywood executives skipped.
